Anyone interested in one more tourney this coming Saturday? Initially I'm thinking of an inland lake such as Cass or Maceday. We could either do a "Golden Rule" tournament, or if someone has a good scale, we could do a weigh-in. I'm thinking just a fun tournament to wrap up the season. Maybe we could just have a big fish pot and only bring in our big fish for the day to be weighed. What do you guys think? Any interest? Post here if you'd be able to make it and if we get enough boats, we'll do it. I'll be happy to organize it.

I got my boat back from the dealer today, ready to go. The latest forecast calls for good weather on saturday. I'll be there if you have it.

That would make 2 boats and 3 fishermen. If we get a few more, I'm up for it. I never fished Union. But I've always had a tough time at Cass. I would be fine with either. Is Union a smaller body of water? If so, maybe that would be a better choice with fewer boats. Just a thought. Can we get 4-6 boats?
MBell, would you be bringing a partner? I might be able to get a buddy of mine to come along as well, but we'd still need a few more boats to make it a worthwile day.

Union is smaller, Union-465 acres Cass 1280 acres. I don't have a partner for this weedend. Another thought is are the docks still in at these ramps?

That's a good question. I suppose we'd have to contact the DNR and ask unless someone knows for sure that they're still in. Cass might be since there was a tournament there last week. (or the week before?)

I called the dnr and they could not tell me anything, I may be out by union this afternoon I check if I'm out there. I know cass will at least leave on dock in that has been my experience in the past with big launches like that.

We can't seem to get any more guys though. I would think it would be good to have at least 4 boats. Is there anyone else out there interested?

It's a busy weekend between football and hunting, and most people are already done for the year. I'm going to check Union out tommorow, maybe we could put a golden rule tourment together for next spring if we still have the C&R lakes?

Sounds good to me. I'm starting a new club. Let me know if you're interested. I put a post up about it. Check it out and let me know if you'd like to fish in some of our tourneys in the spring.

Are you going to fish Kent lake??? It looks like my club will not be going there next year. I went there this year and had a blast. Let me know member fees all that stuff.

When you get a chance, check out the post in this forum that I started about the new club. djkimmel.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=basscirc&action=display&thread=1099691705 I'd like to keep the dues cheap, cheap, cheap. Just enough to cover a couple of trophies at the end of the year. Maybe $10 a guy. My other club charged $25, plus it was required to get multiple licenses and join the federation. In the end, they had lots of extra money in their account and I didn't see the point in that. I also want to get guys involved in the decision making process when it comes to picking lakes. We fished Kent last year and I think it might be a good lake for the spring. We're open to whatever lakes guys want to fish. If it's possible to do it...we will. This new club will be led by the group, not a TD or president. The TD will just handle making lake arrangements and providing maps, etc. The club will call all the shots. Read the post, and let me know what you think. The post is just a collection of thoughts I had about the club. We're open to changing any or all of it. We just want to have fun and learn a little something along the way.

Hey Revtro, You would definatly be able to count me in. I like the idea. One thing I would say is make a classic at the end of the year at a northern lake or something after fishing all these lower waters all summer it would be nice to get out of town on a new body of water with the guys from the club and try to figure it out. I have read your idea and it sounds good to me.

I am in for kent lake also. i cant believe there isnt a small club that targets the CIR lakes as an early tournament trail. i know it would be paper. but you figure thats 2 full monthes of season people could be fishing on 6 different lakes around the state. im sure our fine dept of natural resources wouldnt mind.
