I found the fish shallow on friday. Then on saturday I got talked up as one of the local favorites. Sorry CWINSIII - That wasn't nice of me. I may have subconsciously wanted to put pressure on you and VinceR so the rest of us would have a chance... (there I go again). Yea, and for 5 hours it worked, too. I think that I mentioned to my partner (Steve "liegghio" Liegghio) that Dan put the "jinx" on me. In defense of the person who suggested that the fish would be deep, that's where we eventually found our fish. Actually, I lost two, cranking a brush pile adjacent to the channel, first thing in the morning. Truth is, like Dan, I have a very hard time fishing shallow once the water warms up and the weeds begin to die off. I'm drawn to the deeper weeds and numerous brush piles and stumps in deep water. There always seems to be an abundance of shallow fish, but they tend to be shorts (another "#$%&*?" 13 3/4"). All in all, I had a great time. The only pressure was on myself to put my partner on some fish. Steve, you were an awesome partner. It was definitely a "good day on the water". We all need more of those!

I guess I should quit reading all those fishing magazines. They will really lead you astray. You said it.

Had a great time. Caught almost nothing. But, fished all day. My partner and I had a ball. He can't honestly say he came in dead last, cause he caught the only keeper we had. lol. So.... I came in last on the last place team.
I told him his back must be sore afte carrying me all day.
I'll definately be back. Sign me up. Since my partner and I came in 6th place, we should be automatic for next year right? Kinda like the classic......
I enjoyed meeting you all, and I gotta tell you my partner Josh was about as nice a partner as I could draw. It was his boat and all, and he made sure I felt right at home. I could really get used to fishing on a boat like that. Don't know if my wallet would, but I could.
Josh. You'll have to tell me how/where you did so well on Portage.

Oh yeah, almost forgot.
Thanks a lot Dan. I don't know what all goes into setting something up like you did, but we all really appreciated your efforts.
Not only for the tourney, but for this forum, and all of your help and advice.
Thank you.

Dan,
Thanks for all the effort you put into making this tournament possible. I think everybody had a good time. I know I did. I'm already looking forward to next year.
Mark, thanks for showing me that trick for removing deep hooks. I can't believe how easy that was and how well it worked.
It was great to meet you guys, good luck to anybody fishing Sunday on the Half Moon chain. I'll see you there.
