I am looking for a spinnerbait that I can easily and rapidly change both front and rear blades. I can find ones that you can change the rear blade without a problem, but I can't seem to find any that I can change the front blade on easily, (other than secret weapon spinnerbaits.)
I have modified many of the ones I currently have, however to modify the front blade becomes a bit of a pain, and time consuming.
Suggestions?
Pat

Hey Jcheetam,
Ref. Secret Weapon Spinnerbaits
My only hold back right now is that it looks like I will be stuck using their blades. Do you know if you can use other blades other than the ones they sell?

It looks like with some manipulating, you can put your own brand of blades on the clevis. From the photo I've seen of the blades up close (I'm referring to the photo on secretweaponlures.com/spinnerbaits.htm ), it looks like it is possible.

I happened to catch a show featuring the spinnerbaits you're talking about. It looked to me like it would be possible to use any blades. The company also sells a kit full of different blades and skirt colors. I havent tried them but only seen it on the tv. It looked like a good product and there were alot of blades in the kit they had. Thought it would pass that on.

Ya, I have been doing my homework on these baits now for probably a good couple of weeks. It's funny that you said that you saw them on a TV show. While I was doing some looking around on the net, I to saw a TV show featuring theses baits, but just prior to them really discussing these baits my TV signal went out, so I missed the discussion, figures.
I even called a place in KY who carries these baits, and the guy I talked with told me of a couple of draw back with these baits.
Well, I broke down and ordered a couple. I guess I'll see myself, that's the only way I will know for sure if they are worth it to me.

Okay, you swisted my arm.
I will try them out and get back with you guys. I cannot guarantee a GOOD report, however I will put out the info after I have used them. It might be awhile unfortunately with all of this snow and cold weather and all.

I saw the same episode of Fishing University with Charlie Ingram. He had some good things to say so I went ahead and ordered the Clear Water Kit. I'll try and post a report when the water gets soft...

Hey MadWags,
thanks for the info. I checked out the site, however I could not tell how they change their blades. Can you change them quickly and without any hassle? And am I stuck using "their blades," or can I use the zillion that I already have.
Thanks Pat

I have not used them as of yet. But that is going to change.
I got this from the site;
"There are many different variations of these products. To purchase one of these variations or if you just have a general question about our products, feel free to call us at 217-386-9611, M-F 9am-4pm CST, or e-mail us at customerservice@jdlures.com and we will try to answer all of your questions."
They also make customs

I just thought of something. Terminator Lures offers a model of spinnerbait called a Speed Bead. I own a few of them and you can quickly and easily change blade configurations. For the main blade you would need a pair of needle nose or split ring pliers, but for the smaller blades they have the quick clevis. it is basically just a clevis that is spiral wrapped around the main wire. The only down side is that you have to really push the bead down into the loop on the titanium wire after changing blades or the blade will fall off as i have experienced. But if you use your pliers, it is no problem. Worth checking out if the other ones dont work to your liking. PoorBoy himself
