Do any of you guys make your own plastics? I am strongly looking into doing that myself. I was wondering what the start up costs might be? Any suggestion or comments?

It will cost around $100 to get everything you need to get started. That is including a cheap microwave, which is much cleaner and faster than a heating element. You will need plastic, molds, coloring and glitter. If you want salt just buy non-iodized salt at the grocery store. You will want to buy everything else from a place that sells that kind of stuff. Here are some links for you. www.tackleunderground.com good info on tackle making www.lurecraft.com sells plasics, coloring, and a ton of rubber molds. www.del-mart.com aluminum molds, he has a 2 part senko mold Those places should give you an good idea of what your getting into. They also have starter kits that come with everything you need for some basic baits. Make sure you have somewhere to work outside, there are fumes. Also, hand pours can be hard to pour in cold weather less than 40 degrees. Good Luck

Matt- I checked out those sites. I was hoping to find some decent tube jig molds. Any idea of where you could find tube jig molds for 1/2 oz and higher? Do It Molds doesn't offer any that large that I can tell. I know there must be molds out there unless guys like Cruncher Baits are making their own molds.

I have a Do-It cylinder-shaped tube jig mold that goes up to 3/4 ounce. I use these jigs or ones I get from Wayne for my deep channel fishing.
I haven't looked at Stamina or Jann's to see if anything new is available this year.
