Will be heading for my dad's place this weekend, and was wondering if anyone had some current info on the lakes in the area of Onaway? Water temp, fish stage(spawn), and or ideas on where to start fishing. I have never been there this time of year. I have heard good things about both Black and Douglas, any info would be great. How about boat launches? Thanks.

Have stopped there many times, on the way from Stony Links back to the lake.

Thanks, I have been up there, but only caught rock bass. Did venture up further and caught some smallies and small muskie.

Hard to beat tubes and suspending jerkbaits in the spring on all those northern Michigan lakes.

X-rap in bone color eh? I have one in the "tennesee shad" color, which rapala calls green back or something like that. It worked well on Mullet this year but I didn't think to use it on Black. I didn't really even see any fish on the beds, I wonder where they go in the spring. Someone told me the North end, but I searched for about 2 hours with no luck. Anyway, Mullet is better for me, so I'll stick to that. There is this spot at the north end in the river that I just love to hit. That jerkbait was tearing them up. I say a good size muskie there in the river, too. Dodge point was another good stop. Man, just talking about Mullet gets me going, I wish I was there right now! Thanks blakstr1 and Dan! PS- How did that local guy do at Douglas Lake?
