This is a long stretch. Anyone possibly know someone who would be interested in a 93 Ford F150 4x4? It has lots of highway miles - 236,000+
and a blown head gasket, broken rear spring mount, with leaky seals in the transmission and transfer case. I don't know about anything else with the engine. The engine has been reliable other than the distributor wanting to get moisture in it in the past and not start. I replaced that with a new one and the problem hasn't returned. The mechanics wanted me to get a rebuilt engine rather than try to fix the one in their because of the miles. If I could fix the other stuff myself, I probably would have, but I really needed a truck that can handle more weight anyway with my small camper and the boat.
It's a 5 speed manual and fairly plain. I did just put a new muffler and tail pipe on it along with 2 new tires. The front tires are less than a year old. Of course, if I knew the head gasket was going to blow, I wouldn't have put the new stuff on it. I also put a new radiator on it last year and new universal joints not that long ago.
The clutch works, but is probably worn well. It's been about 5 years since I replaced it. I replaced both axles in the last year. The overdrive gear needs adjustment - it pops out. The rest work fine and the 4-wheel drive works fine (manual hubs).
If you know anyone who likes to get trucks cheap and fix them up, I need to get rid of it. I'm just not mechanically inclined or prepared and needed to switch to something with less miles since I drive 130 round to work and back each day.
