I will be fishing this tournament this weekend. It has been going on for a long time and is run by one of my fathers friends. It is mostly for fun with a big cookout/party afterward on sunday. The fun starts tommarow morning at 7 am. Looks like im in for a wet cold weekend but 1 or 2 fish may win it. A local walleye club tournament last weekend only produced 5 fish and about 25 boats with 2 guys in each boat. It will be my first tournament ever. I will post again on Sunday if not sooner.

Gotta love that tournament fishing. Everything has gone without a hitch so far......accept for no fish. The tournament is open until 12:00 sunday so hopefully tommarow morning will bring some fish my way. Fished for about 12 hours today without catching ANYTHING Its fun though anyway. approx 100 guys fishing and only 24-27 fish weighed so far. My uncle is in the same tournament and is smokin me bad so far. I usually can beat him on my lake though so he can have the bigger water. Hopefully tommarow brings a 10 pounder.

8.4 lbs won the tournament. I and my brother never caught a fish. Quite a few good fisherman also got skunked. Lots of raffle prizes and an awesome cookout lifted my spirits however It seems that we should have been on fish but must not have wiggled our worms the right way.... or minnows. The tournament was won in a different area than ours but the 6th place guys were in the same hole as us. Fished for a total of 17 hrs and only 1 or 2 good bites. Cold windy weather didnt help much but it looks like a warming trend is on its way. Next years Bonanza will be here before I know it, but hopefully its warmer then .

Just always try to learn from each tournament whether your win or don't - it sounds like you had some fun too and that's also important.
