I got this one and a few of her sisters last summer on a pond near my house. The handle on my rod is 11 inches.
The same day I caught an 18"+ bass on a bluegill I had just hooked ;D As I was reeling the bluegill I saw the bass come up from the bottom and just nailed the gill. My natural reaction was to pull the bluegill up really fast but then my buddy told me to put it back in and sure enough he grabbed it right away and I was able to fight him and get him into shore without even hooking him
