I was thinking we'll preregister as many guys as possible and hook up all the nonboaters first before seeing what to do about boaters. I'd like to do as much of the pairing as possible before the tournament day if we can.
We 'know' each other well enough to have some semblance of organization.
I'm leaning towards having individual weights for overall bragging rights, but have some kind of team award at least for the top 2-person weight for boat bragging rights.
I realize competition will be fierce with the large $5 entry fees and we haven't even talked about an optional ? $2 big bass pot that will really heat things up. But I think we can work things out.
Eric, Lake Ovid is great for you. You can probably fish the whole tournament for ~$60!
$70 tops!!!

Cut your grass? Did you and the little lady find a new homestead?

My vote is for a draw/team. Draw for partner. Fish as a two man team. Reduces the chance for hostility between partners. Five fish limit. Individual big bass separate pot.

Am I not looking hard enough? Has a date been established?

I'll put it all together for you in one spot cameraguy as soon as a few more things are clear. I kind of like your idea of the format if other guys like the idea.
The date looks to be 9/24/05.
I'll probably request a permit next week just to make sure the date is open before going too much further.

I like the draw/team format with a 5-fish limit. It sounds like the way to go to me.

You got my interest.
What lake are you thinking (I hope I did not miss it in the earlier posts)
How many people do you think you will have? If I don't have to work, (knock on wood) I could probably go as boater if needed or a non-boater.

I'll put an online notice together as soon as everything falls into place.
The basics are that it will be on Lake Ovid near St. Johns (in Sleepy Hollow State Park). It will be on 9/24/05.
The ramp only has parking for 20-some boats, but I would expect between 10 and 20 for the first time with the number of active members we have. If things go real well, we'll just have to take the first 50 or so guys, but it's tough to squeeze in another event with so many guys fishing so many circuits and opens already.

Dan:
count me in as a boater, as long as I don't make the top 10 in the DTW river everstart - I sure hope I can only make it with you guys in spirit, and bring the newly won boat out to next years open - lol
otherwise, I'll be there.

I completely understand and wish I could pick a day were everyone could definitely make it. If you win a boat, we want to hear about it... heck, even if you get the last place in the money, we still want to hear about.
If you don't make the final day cut and you aren't completely worn out, hope to see you at our board event.
