If most want a team format, I would propose anglers contact me who want to fish, but either don't have a boat or a partner available for the event and I would hook teams up.

Dan
I will make my boat avaliable, if you have a nonboater that wants to fish let me know. If all the nonboaters have partners I will bring someone. If you decide on the draw format.

i like the draw format too. it will give us a chance to get to know each other better than if we just meet up at the ramp and then go out with the guys we already know. but i know my luck, i will end up drawing jeff cheetam and that will be no good. that guy couldnt catch fish in an aquarium. ;D PoorBoy himself

the cobo boat show is going ...........ok. attendance is still low. but we are selling boats. its good therapy for me tho. i get to talk about fishing all day. i wish we had the Tritons there, but we can only display the Lunds. Had dinner with the president of Lund Boats on Sunday night. Mr Larry Lavold himself.....he was kind enough to take a few of us out to Carls Chop House for some $42.00 steaks and a few cocktails. i will be there again next weekend, much to the dismay of my soon to be wife. Dan:
I would like a draw format as well - to meet up with some of you guys.
I would prefer 10/8, as the 24th is day 3 of the DTW river everstart - I may be available, but certainly plan on fishing for a new boat that day.
I have my new 520, and certainly would like to use it, but would be willing to co-angler as well if it balances out the numbers.

Hey Dan,
Let me make a suggestion to you.
How about the ABA runs this event for you since it is looking like it will be an open?
I can make it happen under the ABA rules and that way your insured incase anything happens.
Just a thought ........ let me know what you think.

I sure like that idea Jmcfarland, but it's a long drive for one day for the bulk of the members that live down here. I'll be up there at Mullett around that time (I believe the first week of October) anyway for our annual group camping trip. Awesome fishing! I look forward to it every year. I hope you can make it down. We'll have room for you.

I was thinking I remember the State Parks used to require a large insurance policy to get a permit. I was going to check into that to see if it still exists. The only concern I have is would everyone have to be a member of ABA? Would we have to have a higher entry fee? I like jcheetam's ideas about keeping it simple and cheap. I really appreciate the offer if it can work out. THANKS! That would be great!!! (I hear we will be spending some time together at the Grand Rapids show.) I may have some giveaways from sponsors at the tournaments, but I still have a lot of work to do in that area yet.

Dan I can put a 1 Mil insurance policy on it. So insurance will not be a problem.
I can make it an open so these guys will not have to pay any membership fees and there would be no late fees or anything like that. Only problem is I will not be able to turn away any ABA member if they show up and want to fish. The entry fee would have to be $55.00 ... However I know several ABA members visit this board and this event would count towards thier national points standings. If we had this event in septemebr like your proposing the points would count towards the 2006 national standings.
The cool thing is that if anyone who shows up does well and like the way I do things they can join that day and have thier points count towards thier standing s for 2006.
There is allot of special things we can do to make this one cool event but we would have to keep inside the ABA rules in doing so.

I personally don't mind who signs up to fish. I always like to get more people to join here - more anglers means more sharing of all kinds of information. I hope that doesn't bother anyone else.
Is the $55.00 entry per person? That might be more than some guys want to pay. Let's see what people think about that one you answer the question. Thanks.
