First, let me say that I was NOT asked to post this, but I had such an awesome experience that I just had to. I got a chance to fish with Wayne Carpenter last week in the St. Clair River system. I was specifically looking to up my skills with vertical presentations. Not only did I learn a TON from him, but also built a great deal of confidence in an area of fishing that I have been very frustrated with. He's a great fisherman and teacher which is why I will continue to subscribe to his newsletters. A few weeks ago, I decided to spend an entire Saturday fishing WC spots exclusively. Too bad it wasn't a tournament day because we got nearly 17.5 lbs with only a few hours of work. The fish were right where he said they'd be and my buddy and I nailed 'em. I can't say enough about how much he's helped me grow in my understanding of St. Clair (especially the channels). I highly recommend subscribing to the Combat Fishing Newsletter, it rocks. Check him out at Combat Fishing at www.combat-bassfishing.com/ Again, in all honesty, Wayne did not ask me to post this. I am being honest when I say how helpful the CF info has been. If you fish St. Clair seriously like I do, then you are doing yourself a disservice by not getting this valuable info. Hope you don't mind me posting this commercial Dan. I was just so happy this season with Wayne and the CF newsletter, I thought I should tell everyone I could. And that's the honest truth!

I would just like to add that when Tom and I went out, we worked through a lot of tough spots. He was determined to get the vertical jigging pattern down that day, which had everything to do with his success. It would have been easy to give up after the number of spots we went to without getting bit.
Tom really dialed in on a pattern that went from 37 to 42 feet of water which required the absolute best boat control to make it work. I'm glad I was there to facilitate the transition, but it was his determined efforts that evolved into the confidence that he now has with the presentation. That can be taken anywhere!
Nicely done Tom!
