Check out the new page on my website for our Michigan Bass Season Action Page where I'll have as many resources as possible at one site. I have a tentative timeline posted which will be made accurate as soon as we get details on public meetings. I have news links. Meeting notices. Soon to be a download of our petitions we'll be circulating (including instructions) and other information related to the important topic. **Petitions now available!**You can also get info at Michigan Bass AnglersSee you at the next meeting Monday, July 12 at Bass Pro Shops at 7:00 PM. We'll have handouts and the petitions.

I've updated the Michigan Bass Season Action page with a new survey that we would like anglers to fill out and mail in to us. This is to counter the one-sided and biased survey the MDNR is handing out and now has online on the bass season scenarios they are limiting the public to. I've also added a report on some of what has gone on so far at the 6 meetings I've attended. There's some new stuff that MDNR is trying to pass out as valid information. Luckily, many anglers aren't buying it, but some will. Check out Public Meeting Report. It will help you especially if you plan on attending a future meeting. I've posted the new Scenario 8 submitted by the Michigan BASS federation on 8/10 at the Novi meeting to the MDNR. It's a good compromise we may even get MUCC to support. It may be our most realistic chance of winning an acceptable outcome compared to the 4 options the MDNR is limiting the public to so far despite promising me originally that all scenarios would go the public. You can view Scenario 8 and I hope you will consider mentioning you support in at the meetings and in any writings. I hope you consider this a better option than just going with scenario 3 and leaving the season as is - the 'lesser of the evils' option. BASS has posted a conservation alert on Bassmaster.com to all Michigan anglers. They are working on compiling a lot of the studies on bass seasons and related that the MDNR did not seem to be able to find. They may also be submitting written opinions by other fisheries biologists, many who actually have bass biology expertise. Our MDNR admits they do not. Our immediate goal is to continue to show the MDNR at the meetings that we care the most, and to get them to include Scenario 8 in a meaningful manner, so they can prove they really haven't made up their minds and want public input.
