Well, got my first look at this chain of lakes this weekend and I was not impressed! We have a tournament coming up there on the 25th-26th and it looks to be a tough one. The fish seem to be in a post-spawn funk, I only found two small stragglers still on the beds. I need help! Where are these fish going to show up? I saw plenty of good water, but nothing swimming around or hitting anything. I caught 4 fish for the entire 2 days of pre-fishing, only one being legal. Maybe one fish will be enough to place up there, who knows.
Any help would be appreciated, I'm going back up Friday for one more shot at finding some fish before the tournament starts.

There should still be fish in the back end of Skeg from reeds on out into stumps and cabbage. Try burning a spinnerbait and popping tubes off the weeds. There are usually smallies along the southwest sand drop of Skeg too on tubes.

Well, I don't know about those spots, but I did well out in Elk. I had first place in my grasp on day one, but Ronhuntfish ended up taking me by a few ounces because I brought in one dead fish. Blew a livewell fuse! I ended up smoking him the next day though! (by one fish and about 2 pounds is all). Those place points really add up though. . . . . . . . See you at the Bay Ron, and congratualations on taking first place and the big fish money up there on day one!!! (His wife and kids were there, I had to let him win)

Pretty darn good. Elk can be real tough after the spawn is done. Congrats.

Fishing Sat. turned out to be a lot of fun. I caught all my fish right in front of where my family and I were staying on Skegamog. Of coarse they were still snoozing when I caught my fish. To bad it didn't hold up for Sunday though.

Hmmmmmmm.... right in front of where you were staying, huh? They weren't in a cage or anything like that were they? I though I saw you wife running out on the dock from the cabin with a bucket. . . . . HA HA HA, I know your wife would never touch a fish! ;D ;D ;D
