Im new to this forum. I am looking for a partner to fish the NBAA north country challenge with. I live way up north (only 20 miles from the bridge). I haven't fished any tournaments before and do not have a bass boat. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hello Jmcfarland - there's a few way north guys on the site now. I hope to be talking to NBAA soon about getting more of the anglers interested in their circuit visiting here. Maybe that will help you find a new fishing partner. Good luck. Like I said before, you have some great water up there.

Since the replys havent been rolling in let me try to sell myself a little better. FISHING I would say my 2 best tactics are Jerkbaits over weed beds and buzzbaits in lily pads. I fish almost all clear water up here where seeing a lure down 10' or more is common. I find morning and evenings to be most productive for me. Cloudy days also help me out a lot. The wind seems to blow 100 mph everyday up here in the spring so with my 14 foot dingy i often anchor and make long cast. Its hard to keep a trolling motor battery charged in a dingy. When the wind does let up I also like to cast twist tail grubs and other finesse tactics. GENERAL Im 19 years old. I grew up on Pickeral lake in alanson michigan. I love all sports pretty much and take winning very seriously. I graduated at 17 and moved out at 18 this past spring. I live with my girlfriend. I work for my father as a mason. I love to work hard and making it on my own. Well i hope this will catch someones attention and maybe ill find a partner. P.S. I am open to other circuits besides the NBAA I just would prefer fishing in the northern half of the state.

Give it a little time. I'll keep my eyes and ears open. I know a few guys up in your neighborhood that might be able to help too.

I live in Traverse City I connot fish the tournaments on the weekends. I'm fishind the NBAA weeknight division 38 out of Traverse City. If you want to meet up somewhere like Burt & Mullet , Chaorlevoix on the weekend I plan on fishing those lakes this season. I have a 20 foot boat with a 200hp. This is going to be my first full year living up here so I'm still learning the lakes.

If you don't find a partner for the NBAA, there is a new ABA division for 2005 which will be run up in your neck of the woods. It is a draw format, so show up, get paired up and fish your heart out. Membership is $25 per year, $55 per tournament, optional big bass, and some money for your boater to cut his costs. Go to: www.americanbassanglers.com/for more details...

I have fished burt and mullet some but I am far from knowing them well. CWINSIII-I dont think i can make weeknight tournaments because of work obligations. Will you be fishing tournaments on burt\mullet and charlevoix or just fun/pre fishing??? jcheetam- I like the draw tournament idea of the ABA's and will surely be checking them out. Thanks for the info guys, I must say that you all are a very helpful bunch of guys.
