Haven't heard much about Pontiac yet. Rumors the fishing is improved, but that's it - vague rumors.

Had a club tournament out on Pontiac a few weeks ago and it was all little fish. I lost one aroud 2.5lbs and thats the bigest I saw. Big fish was only around 1.5lbs, and it only took 6lbs to win. Plenty of pike.

I would really like to hear if anyone has been to Pontiac lately or is going there this week... I'll be there Monday the 16th and I'd appreciate a little info if anybody has any.

Hit the lake 12pm Caught 1 legal bass 14.5 lost several others. Weather was nasty rain and wind. There was a paper tourny this am 1 legal bass won it 14 incher. John from the launch said that is all everyone has been catching. Try Gale bay in the middle it is fairly shallow but usually good with jerks. I got mine in 5 ft dragging a watermelon senko on the bottom. Had a few hits on cranks in 8 ft but I think they were small pike as I caught a couple of them. Good luck

well today went alright out on Pontiac. caught myfirst bass within 15 minuts of being on the lake. we had the michigan out of doors drew with me and I guess we got 8 o 9 on film but all were small. at least we got into a couple for film! talked to John at the launch for a while and he says no reports of big fish..however a couple of guys he knows that just fish for fun and fish often got out there yesterday and landed 8 all over 14" with the biggest being 17". that would have been a hog today. i'll let you all know when the MOOD thing will air so you can toon in.

What was the MUCC show filming about? Bass fishing in general, or catch-and-release?

We talked about bass fishing, our (Team BASS) charity open tournament, Bass Season Changes, & MUCC. My club's president (Bob Theriault) was with me too and was able to talk about the regulation changes quite well and what we support and why shortening the season would be bad...I'm not sure how it will all translate to a 6-8 minute spot but we shared some good views about things. I originally contacted them about our Open and things progressed from there. Just another way to open some eyes about the DNR and their proposed changes.

Great job on the season! I hope some makes the air. MUCC can be a POWERFUL ally. (I hate to think the opposite possibility.)
We really need as much information as possible to get out to the general angling public - the masses who don't read these sites.

Tune in to Michigan-Out-of-Doors this week, they will be showing the Pontiac Lake taping we did a couple weeks ago, as well as another early season bass fishing story.
