Hi, I'm fishing Long Lake in Oakland County this week and I've never been there before. Any hints for that lake would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've fished Long Lake,I've gotten alot of bass in the 1.5-2lb range,I've caught a 5lber (largemouth) out of there also.when you put in at the ramp(which this last weekend was full)(has parking for roughly about 15 trailers)give or take. look to about 10:00 and you will see a point, find 10 to 12 feet of water and fish it all the way down that 10 to 12 ft. range there is a nice weed line there and there are scattered weeds in the area also,if that doesn't work,go to the opposite side of the lake you will see condo's on shore, there is a sand bar flat(fairly large) fish the edge of that(that is the area I took My 5lber if you were to fish anywhere from 8-12 or even 14 feet you will probobly do pretty good.Lures that I use are Bass pro xps cranks in perch and shad colors, green pumpkin kalins grubs and green pumpkin strike king KVD tubes GOOD LUCK!

OH I almost forgot watch out for some of the landowners over there they are real (put bad word here)sometimes, and also watchout for a guy who flies an ultralite, I seen him crash into a parked pontoon boat.I know he survived(that happened last year)

fished with my son and the dog. we only got 2, the dog could not get her fish.
15 boats. i think 6 lbs won. they paid 4 places. 100% payback is great. also 100 % on big fish.
thanks to the guys who put it on. would be interested in doing more of them next year.
the guy in the ultralite took off and landed in the dark. didn't hit anything.

Sounds like a fun tourney,so the ultralite guy is still flying, good for him,I would have been scared ----less to fly again. Is that an open tourney?

Bback, thanks for the advice. 6lbs won it and we were in a close second with about 5 1/2. Had a great time. I have never fished that lake before, but really enjoyed it. We ended up getting all our fish extremely shallow around weeds and very tight to cover. Our biggest fish came out from between two boats moored very tightly together. It was a weird bite last night too. You couldn't feel the bite at all. They were just sucking it in and holding it without swimming off at all. So you had to either see them take it or set the hook at any little resistance you felt. Several times, I was sure I was just rubbing against weeds, then I set the hook and had a fish on. Got lots of 13.5 inch fish. Yes, it was open tourney.
