Is Bob Therraiult (sp) in your club? I met a new member at the Federation meeting Sunday who is looking for a new club. He lives in Port Huron - just moved up here from Florida and wants a club that fishes tournaments that he can learn from. I directed him to this forum and lakestclair.net too.
Hopefully he'll read this.

Yeah Dan, Bob is our president.. Thats exactly what we are about learning from each other and helping each other. Heck he could probably teach us a thing or two about LM coming from Florida!! Hope he reads this!

He said he'd check the board for information although he already had some contact info for Bob, so hopefully you'll hear from him. He's definitely motivated.

I'll be seeing Bob this weekend, maybe he will have heard something by then. We need to get that roster count up so we can continue to send 8 anglers to the state championship.
Thanks for the help.

Actually, I've only had one guy fall completely asleep during one of my speeches in the past 6 or 7 years. It might be because they limit my times now. Like tomorrow, I can talk for 43 seconds.
I'm practicing talking real fast right now. I may have a sideline as an auctioneer eventually.
I have a great joke to tell too...

Hey! Time is relative. I learned that from my wife... all the times she says, "I'm going to Meijer. I'll be back in an hour..."
I hope you liked the talk. Lots of questions. I think I answered them all. They always make the conservation guy go about last when everyone is ready to go... makes for quite the challenge.

i noticed that, you had barely said your last word and the motion to adjourn and second came flying in...i darted to the bathroom!! next time i'll introduce myself, maybe the bright red shirt made you a target for all of those questions...ole' ;D

I don't usually cause a rush to the bathroom, but... I was wondering if we'd get a moment to say hi. I ended up my usual half a dozen follow ups and catch ups after the meeting anyway. I think I go out of there about 50 minutes later.
I think I have two or three of my old old old Conservation Director shirts from the last time I did the job (pre-1996). I thought I might as well go for the gusto and wear the red. I didn't put my BASS Conservation patch on the shirt yet. Guess I should. I have more of those patches I plan on giving out to club Conservation Directors as they become known.
Guess I'd much rather have a bunch of questions than blank stares any day.
I had a chat with your new 'Florida' guy again after the meeting. He's a happy camper... er, angler.

Yeah he is excited to get to fishing, I keep telling him this isn't Florida he has to wait a few months! He fits in with our guys pretty well, laid back, big talker, and loves to fish. We picked officers for our club earlier in the day last Sunday, but at our next meeting I am going to bring up the Conservation position..not sure how we are going to handle it yet...I might add it to my Public Relations duties, since I handle that end anyway. To make you feel better I headed to the bathroom because of an overflow of Diet Coke...(just trying to salvage your self - esteem!!)

Thanks for shoring up my self-esteem.
Hey, if you end up CD for your club, that will be alright. It won't be anymore work than you can handle and are willing to do.
You don't have to say yes to everything. Today alone, I've received 9 email from Ma BASS and 7 more related. I can't do something about them all. Just do what I can about the ones that have the highest priority.
