I got up this morning thinking about where I wanted to fish. I thought about maybe going to Ford Lake. It had been years since I have been there. But instead I decided to go to Long Lake in Oakland County just west of Union Lake. I had fished enough stained water over the last couple of weeks at Belleville so clear water would be a pleasant change.
I got there about 0730 and launched the boat. I motored out to my first spot and in the first hour I hooked and landed 3 largemouths on a worm. They were all about 2 pounds. I pretty much spent most of the day in this area. It was less windy. I had tried the windy side of the lake for about an hour but had no catches. I had a couple of "slaps" at a crankbait but no hookups. Back at the less windy side of the lake I had caught fish all day on worms, crankbaits, jerkbaits, and a number 5 fox vibrax spinner. All together for the day I had 7 largemouths and one nice smallmouth. All in all about five keepers with my weight being about 11 lbs for the five. Water temp was 58 degrees. ;D
