Who's fishing what circuits this year? I'll be fishing ABA and NBAA this year. Was gonna do CATT, but decided that I can't afford the $$ or time to do 3 circuits plus our club tourneys. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys this year in person.

I am pretty sure that I have no more free time or money so I won't be fishing any circuits. I might be allowed to fish an inexpensive DK open though. Let's have it at Lake Lancer in Gladwin County...or Secord...or Smallwood...or Ross...or Wixom...or Sanford.

I say we do an informal $5 team or draw tourney with optional $5 big bass pot. I'm more interested in bragging rights and meeting some of the more interesting characters here, excluding of course Poorboy and Eric, because they aren't very interesting . I'm pretty excited about having two ABA districts close to home this season. It will be nice to have a choice of waters and dates to fish this year. I will probably fish most of the big water district and 1/2 of the inland district. It should also be fun having the two pre-season tournies this year instead of one.

You guys are all very entertaining!! I'm thinking we should all fish out of one BIG boat just for the entertainment value - like a really big pontoon boat... Of course, then we'd have to figure out who would be captain... I'm liking Lake Ovid (I can't believe cameraguy didn't jump on that pontoon? ?) overall but I'm not sure about October for Ovid - can be fussy. May be the best way to get all us travelers together though. I like the central location for the northern guys (and it's cheap for too - which btw reminds me to 2nd jcheapums... er, jcheetams suggestion about cost). I need about 3 more days to look at schedules - I spent all day LITERALLY Saturday with my Godchildren and Sunday was a writing day. I appreciate the suggestions. We should be able to come to some kind of consensus. Glad to see a few wayward names back after apparent absences (probably due to jobs, impending weddings and new children I'm sure) but I was wondering if we hadn't lost some of the entertainment value... BTW, Wayne Carpenter, Dave Misaras and myself will be on the Bob Bauer 97.1 FM Outdoor World radio show this Saturday from 8 AM to 9 AM to talk about Wayne's latest book - NO SECRETS on Lake St. Clair Volume 2 - and the big lake itself. Wayne was more than kind enough to let me write the forward to this book - my first book forward ever!

Ovid...sssshhhhhhhh. It's a secret.
I like the mid-Michigan lakes I mentioned because they offer something a little different than we are used to fishing in the SE part of the state. Plus, they are cool lakes and good fisheries. But I'll go anywhere depending on the date.

Okay - here's what I see as possibilities for 'The Open' -
I do like Lake Ovid for it central location - not too hard to get to from the highway. It's a no-wake lake, so any boat can be competitive. It's the right size for a handful of boats. Definitely like the idea of keeping it cheap - more for braggin rights!
I was thinking team, but I don't want to leave out anyone who wants to fish that doesn't have a boat. Are there any guys who want to fish, but don't have a boat or partner with a boat?
Date 1) Saturday 9/24/05 Date 2) Saturday 10/8/05 Date 3) Sunday 10/2/05
What date works for the most guys?

I vote for 9/24.
As much as I like Bass fishing, when it's October, I climb a tree with my bow.

fiker50, you might be able to get your deer on the way in to the boat ramp in the morning... They're all around the lake...
