I'd rather not schedule on the Half Moon tournament - I think I've fished it 3 times myself - just gets hard to work around all the events so I wanted to see if many of us were in that one.
I'm glad to see the draw is popular so far in the poll.
Lake Ovid can be tough by mid-October, but can be really good earlier so I hope to not hit it too late.
I like Lancer too, but I don't think it really works out for more than 3 or 4 boats. I think it fishes small (but the bass are big).

Is this tourney open to anyone on this forum or do you have a club going? I'm in Howell so I can travel and I have a boat. I would be willing to fish nonboater also if it helps.

The DK Open was the idea of members of this forum so they could see the 'face' behind the screen name! (Pretty brave since some of these guys have already seen my face!!!)
It's open to any member of this forum. Nothing wrong with getting friends to sign up either. We will have something like a 26 boat limit at Lake Ovid because of parking, but I don't expect a huge turnout for the first one.
I won't mind being pleasantly surprised though - we'll have early sign up to make sure every one who wants to fish gets in a boat and boater-boater issues are settled as smoothly as possible beforehand without going over the parking limit.

Look off Price Road East of US-127 near St. Johns. A little over 400 acres lowland reservoir inside the State Park (so there is an entry fee to the park if you don't have the annual sticker - I think it's $6 - but I didn't want to point that out to give jcheapum... er jcheetam, sticker shock!).

Yeah - it's pretty tough to schedule an event during our short tournament season. Unfortunately, it looks like 9/24/05 got the overall nod. The permit app has been turned in and I'm just waiting for a response before I post the full details.
I believe an additional tournament was scheduled later by one of the circuits for that day too. I hope that won't goof anyone up.
Lake Ovid/Sleepy Hollow State Park can only handle a small number of boats anyway - enough for the first year I'm sure. I'll have a pre-signup a little later to see how many are pretty sure they can make it - 1) to make sure we don't go over if the turnout is surprisingly large; 2) to make sure enough of you can still do the event to make it worth all our while - I obviously hope so.

Looks like they're going to give me the permit for 9/24 on Lake Ovid. Soon as I get the final copy back, I'll make up something 'official.'

Got the permit! I'll work on putting everything together in one place in the next week for those interested. Tons of keepers await in Lake Ovid. A few big ones too.
